Destination College Advising Corps partners with UC Berkeley Summer Sessions to provide rigorous academic programming for cohort students enrolled in the program. Students selected for this program will be enrolled at UC Berkeley as students and receive a UC Berkeley transcript, depending on the specific program they enroll in.
Nomination Process
Students are admitted to the DCAC Pre-College Summer Session via a nomination process by our College Advisers at our partner schools and programs. Students interested in participating in the Pre-College Summer Session must reach out to their school's DCAC College Adviser Fellow.

Admission Requirements
To be considered for the program, students must be enrolled in DCAC, go into their senior year the following fall (current 11th grader), and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 (weighted) in their A-G coursework. The application will be made available to students in March. Students must complete the application in its entirety to be considered for admission to Summer Sessions. Priority consideration will be given to students who have been active in DCAC throughout high school. Students must also be 16 years of age by start of the program.

Summer Virtual Track
EARN COLLEGE CREDIT | NON-RESIDENTIAL
The Berkeley Pre-College Scholars: Summer Virtual track offers international and domestic high school students the opportunity to join an online community of scholars and pursue their academic goals at the world’s No. 1 public institution. Pre-College Scholars participants will have the opportunity to earn college credit with other students from Berkeley and worldwide. From the convenience of home, you will be able to connect with UC Berkeley students, staff, and faculty. All of the things that make Berkeley a great place are virtually waiting for you. In addition to academics, we have optional, online extracurricular activities and events that will give you a chance to expand your personal and social horizons, learn practical information, and enjoy Berkeley outside of the 'classroom.'
Summer Residential Track
EARN COLLEGE CREDIT | RESIDENTIAL
The Berkeley Pre-College Scholars: Summer Residential track offers international and domestic high school students the opportunity to live on campus and enjoy the summer at Berkeley. Pre-College Scholars participants will get the opportunity to earn college credit while experiencing university life to the fullest with other students from across the United States and around the world. During the summer, students will take two courses offered through Berkeley Summer Sessions and have the option to participate in extracurricular activities, excursions, and an exploratory workshop series delivered by skilled admissions professionals.
Summer Commuter Track
EARN COLLEGE CREDIT | NON-RESIDENTIAL
The Berkeley Pre-College Scholars: Summer Commuter track provides you with a community of hundreds of high school students who spend their time enjoying summer at Berkeley. Get involved in Berkeley campus-based courses, extracurricular activities, and college exploration workshops planned just for you. Take advantage of everything the campus has to offer while earning college credit.
Computer Science Academy (Non-Credit)
NON-CREDIT | RESIDENTIAL
The Berkeley Summer Computer Science Academy is a rigorous 2-week experience designed for motivated students between ages 16 and 17 who are interested in computer science, and wish to gain an excellent understanding of college-level student life. This summer academy is designed for all students regardless of previous coding experience; students will be assigned to one of two groups based on their prior coding experience.
Students will experience immersion in coding, powerful computer science concepts, collaborative programming, and problem-solving. The Academy is based on the world-renowned Beauty and Joy of Computing (BJC) curriculum—the introductory computer science course that Berkeley undergraduates take—and is developed by UC Berkeley Computer Science Teaching Professor Dan Garcia, with day-to-day instruction provided by UC Berkeley BJC veteran teachers.
