Jesenia Padilla is a twenty-one year old Latina who was born in Oakland, California. She has obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at CSUEB, Hayward, which has allowed her to grow a deeper understanding of social behavior. Padilla has worked for the WCCUSD for a year and a half as an Instructional Assistant, working closely with students who struggle academically. Being Bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English, has allowed her to assist English language learners. She has also volunteered at St. Marks Catholic Church as a co-facilitator of faith based classes for adolescents. Padilla is a very positive individual who seeks the well-being and accomplishments of others. Her time working with students has motivated her to continue to guide students through their academic journey. Padilla strongly holds that with the resources available, every student is capable of reaching post-secondary education, no matter their background.
