College Adviser Fellow, San Leandro High School
Elizabeth Collazo was born in El Salvador but lived in Puerto Rico until the age of nine. She grew up in a single parent household with her three sisters. Her family moved to Bakersfield, CA when she was nine years old. She remained in Bakersfield, CA until she moved to Berkeley to begin her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. She received her Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a minor in education from UC Berkeley. While at Berkeley, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris, meet great friends from around the world, and take classes from excellent professors. She believes that she would not have been able to make it into Berkeley without the help of her counselors and the college access programs she participated in while in high school. As such, she wants to be an adviser to help other students attain higher education.
